April 19, 2023 - Wine Dinner #195, Harvey's Bistro, Fortitude Valley - Soldera Vertical 1983-2016. This opened wonderfully fresh and seemingly young with a translucent deep cherry colour and a fine nose of dark cherries, black raspberries, blackcurrants and touches of thyme and sage. The palate was deep and intense with many layers of complexity and structure. There is great persistence and density here which is an interesting comparison to the more transparent 2015 and 16. A wonderful bottle of wine that is seemingly ageless.

January 31, 2020 - Gala Dinner at La Festa del Barolo 2020 (The Pool Restaurant, NYC): Brambly nose of red and black fruit. Long and just stunning in the mouth. This is the 2nd time I've had one of these at a Barolo dinner. It clearly stands up again the competition. Impressive.

May 12, 2017 - World's Greatest - Night II (Daniel): [Magnum] Nose is lacquered, black cherry fruit. I just don't get these. '90, '88, '85, '82... all magnums, all similarly massive and ungiving.

May 10, 2017 - Open pour abit for taste, very close and a little unresolve, no nose. Slo-ox in the bottle for 9 hours. The wine open up really good. Very very good, I hope all brunello can taste like this. Floral, dry herbs, earth, cherry and slight dark fruit. Wonderfully elegant.
