September 1, 2005 - Cherry red color, seems light for a shiraz varietal. Berry notes on the nose, slight spice, but well balanced. Simple in structure, with a medium body and finish. I have yet to be disappointed with a Jacob's Creek bottling, and this Shiraz is no acception. Its not a complex wine, just easy drinking and enjoyable. Reviews of the vintage say 2000 was a decent year, and this example would back that claim. A great value at $7 a bottle.
I will say this, pick the Reserve Shiraz over the this one, its at least a step or two above. -
