December 17, 2020 - A forgotten bottle. I thought I had pretty much drunk up my 2000 Burgundies (with pleasure). My memory of this bottle younger was that it was a bit more about Courcel than Pommard. But this bottle is pretty delicious and almost classic- red fruited, a little sandalwood, some forest floor and a touch of coffee. Tannins are resolved, balanced tannins, a plush texture is the part that seems not so Pommard to me. But delicious B+

December 3, 2011 - Lovely and in a great spot where the fruit is still intense but where marks of forest flor has also emerged. The fruit is towards the darker end of the spectrum, more towards rugged cherry fruit than pretty, red garden fruit. A rather manly, upright wine, very true to place. Will live. At the Lunds for dinner.

April 19, 2010 - Popped and poured-- best at 1 hr. Nose of rose and brett, palate at 1 hr showed raspberry, cherry flavors, but hollow, harsh, mid-palate devoid of any love. No elegance to be sure. Given its lack of balance, I don't think it will gain with time-- drink up, but drink with food to offset the harsh mid-palate.

December 23, 2009 - Hmm, this was the weak sister compared to the two Oregon wines. Pale, limpid color. Fruit was candied in the nose with only a hint at some rosy-ness beyond that to provide some depth. While nice on the palate it still shows its candied side a bit. Don’t think I would ever guess this as Pommard. Quite soft almost to the point of lacking tannin. Decent red fruit but lacking in concentration and depth. Not what we expected. Perhaps this had some storage issues or is an off bottle. Doesn’t quite make sense the way it tastes.

March 17, 2009 - Color showed a little orange on the edges. Feels like this wine is for near term consumption. A little rustic, with brett on the wine, raspberry and cherry flavors with a bit of muddy earthy notes.
