  April 17, 2007 - This bottle changed quite a bit over the first hour that it's been open Opened with a a fair amount earthy fruit left, but tasted somehow harsh, or a bit oaky, as if the oak hasn't integrated (or has disintegrated) over time. (I've never found Ken Wright wines to be oaky, so take that as you will...)
  
  An hour later, the wine has melded together quite well, and the overall effect is very satisfying. It still has a bit of a woody, tannic edge to it, but that edge is in balance with the brambly blackberry/raspberry/peppery/mushroomy taste. The nose is above average (which is to say good-to-quite-good) and the length is also quite good, though I found it to be more "sweet and present" than "fruity".
