Community Tasting Notes 11

December 27, 2023 - Medium gold. Electric and riveting, this shows how good "basic" Riesling can age, particularly under screwcap. On the nose this offers hints of maturity in its dried peach and dried papaya aromas, and middle-aged petrol and tennis ball notes, but really has plenty of gas in the tank and loads of citrus, white flower, and reductive mineral aromas too. On the palate this is light to medium bodied with high acidity and a touch of dry extract. It is dry and lean but not angular or aggressive and offers a ton of complexity for a wine at this level. I only wish I had more.

April 17, 2017 - Easy drinking, mixture of candied lemons and apples with a lot of grace.

January 22, 2017 - Shiny golden color, sweet apples all over, from the nose to the aftertaste, good acidity, easy drinking with ABV 12%.

November 17, 2013 - Wow, the most noticeable thing here is the acidity: extremely high. But first, on the nose it smells very much like Riesling: a bit of honey, orange flowers, rainy minerality, and actually some fairly noticeable petrol. I was a bit surprised and would imagine that note becomes more prominent with age. A really enjoyable nose right now.

In the mouth, there's some friendly effervescence and then the acid attacks almost immediately. I love acid but with this, it's about all you taste. Needs some time in the cellar to relax. A touch of flowers in the mouth as well, but again just more acid.

Was better with some food, which gave the acid something to cut through other than my tongue.
