May 21, 2016 - Q2 Tasting - The Rhone! (The Apt): Our last of these. I was interested to try it after the Rhone flights to see how different the California approach really is with this varietal. Certainly more fruit forward (esp on the heels of the '81 Guigal Hermitage). This wine was just enjoyable which is exactly what we were looking for at that point in the night.

March 22, 2016 - Didn't take formal notes, so going off of memory. Decanted for about an hour. Luscious as always, with rich and deep fruits. Nice finish. In a great place now and not showing signs of falling off anytime soon.

February 24, 2016 - About a month ago we had two of these and one was amazing and one was a bit off. This one was more in the amazing category. Very good deep red fruits - currant and boysenberry and such. Hints of black pepper. Drank next to a '13 Penner Ash Syrah and was interesting to see the differences (Penner Ash with almost more of a slate and rocks feel, this much more of the California style).
