April 17, 2023 - Approached with very low expectations as a bottle I had a year ago was badly oxidized but this was an excellent surprise. The Cuvèe delle vigne niche is made of 100% Carricante and I recall DeGrazia describing that the inspiration of making this wine was a bottle of 5o year old Carricante he had which lead him to make this. While this was a fun wine about 5 years ago at that time i felt it could age longer until the disappointment with the last bottle. Phew long intro...anyway this was dark golden upon opening but actually lightened in color fairly quickly (within 30 Minutes). Geeky wine for sure: yellow apple compote and exotic fruit, pineapple and verging on overripe star fruit. Fat texture, full but not heavy due to ample acid that is well balanced and a distinct mineral component on the finish. Nice Umami note. Got better with more air, medium/short finish but tasty. On a side note I pared it with some fairly intense yellow cheeses after dinner, An aged Gouda and Mimolet and it was a great match with the slightly nutty cheeses. I would not risk ageing this further based on my experience but a fine showing this evening.

February 22, 2018 - Agree with Crush tasting.
The wine looks yellow gold colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. The body is medium. The wine has bright texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity. Drink now, fruit is thinning out.

June 10, 2016 - Started off very tight aromatically but with a nice texture. After 10 minutes of air this started to offer a nice palate of delicate aromatics and flavors. flowers herbs and nuttiness. A slight oxidative note reminiscent of sherry actually seemed to clean up as the more fruity expression came through. Nice umami savoriness on the finish which was well balanced. A nice interplay of texture and minerality and great accompaniment to risotto.

May 6, 2014 - A Casual Tuesday at Crush with some guys from Toronto (Toronto, ON): This wine was continually changing with air and as it warmed. Began with prominent oak via caramel and butterscotch with fruit in the tart green, orchard, and citrus spectrum: Kiwi, green grape skins, green apple, and lemon. Palate is tart with plenty of acid and mineral, not showing much oak at all. As it evolved there were moments where it showed little oak and more smoky, chalky notes, then other times where it showed more creme brûlée and tangerine, and pine. Too unusual to score but if forced I suppose I would be somewhere in the low 90's.
