Community Tasting Notes 5

September 10, 2018 - Medium yellow. Fragrant petrol and dried peach. Initial hint of sweetness from the glycerine, but then full, powerful, dry, and full of stone fruit and minerality. Tremendous aged Riesling, fully expressive.

August 13, 2016 - Light golden. Mature Riesling aromatics-peach, petrol, and tea. Full bodied, dry, an herbal touch, great length. Marvelous mature bottle.

December 1, 2012 - Flint and smoke aromas. Modern, sweet and fullbodied riesling. I guess the vintage influences on that. Concentrated, and a bitter, quite alcoholic finish. A good wine, but a few steps behind the Achleiten.

September 22, 2011 - Comes across fully mature with a light golden hue, a burnished, smoky tinge to the fruit and a roasted beet-like savouriness. This doesn't have the cut or energy that other vintages have shown though, and it's a bit disappointing.

May 30, 2010 - Always fun to drink a white wine with a bit of age and this was no exception. Still had great minerality but the flavors seemed a bit basic (dominated by apple) and the finish was a bit thin. Not ready to buy another but enjoyed the experience.
