December 24, 2023 - Popped and poured with family, was immediately amazing, I thought it was falling off in the glass so would be careful with decanting (although I am not an expert), heaps of mid palate glycerin and resolved tannins

July 31, 2023 - This, unfortunately, was sooooo bad. Fruit soup. Jammy, over ripe and over the top. Alcoholic mess of stewed prune juice.

I loved this when it was released and bought a bunch back in 2006. It has not evolved well and over 2-3+ days open it got worse and worse. What a shame.

Glad my palette has evolved as I don't think my body (or head!) can take these high alcohol wines anymore! My misses also hated it even worse than me! But she's from Europe and isn't fond of the over extracted over oaked manipulated adulterated Napa wines. Well at least she likes Dominus ))

March 7, 2022 - Return to Napa; 3/6/2022-3/13/2022 (Wineries and various restaurants): Not the easiest vintage. This was a bit hotter than I would have expected and the first impression is alcohol although that does blow off with some time. After that it's good but a bit heavier than I'd like although I think this was a warm year so that could be driving it.

February 4, 2022 - Time to drink up, at or past peak. Very nice light silky mouthfeel with cherry with slight pine and oak flavors with a nice touch of sweetness. Tannin are still noticeable so drink now before fruit fades.

December 17, 2021 - Tasted and compared with Scarecrow. Both are exceptional, but Scarecrow gets the nod form the group.
