November 10, 2014 - Had this right after the 1995, and by comparison, it seemed slightly drier and more tannic. But on the second night it opened up in a huge way, with powerful tart cherry fruit, smooth, well integrated tannins, and an altogether balance that was spot on. Drinking very well right now, I cannot imagine it getting any better.

January 18, 2013 - Fully mature, and possibly slightly past peak, but still drinking very nicely. Lush and smooth, full dark fruit flavors and soft tannins. I'd recommend drinking up.

July 16, 2012 - Like my last bottle, this wine needed a hour in a decanter to open up. Still a pretty tight wine. Once open it starts to show some really nice red berries and a bit of wood.

November 10, 2011 - Opened for my Twitter group's Petite Sirah day on Friday, October 7th. Decanted for 8 hours. Wine was massive, beautiful nose, typical very dark/almost opaque appearance. Still tannic with considerable backbone for further aging, and good fruit...blackberries. Good finish, but wondering if fruit holds as tannins diminish. Very good wine in the tradition of long lived York Creek offerings from Ridge.
