July 18, 2019 - Garnet color. Medium tannin Oak, tobacco and casis. Pleasant enough but has seen finer days.

December 3, 2018 - Wine Dojo - SommSelect Blind Six - (September 2018 Shipment): Tasted blind

    A: Deep garnet
N: Black cherry (dried), cassis (dried), coffee, earth green bell pepper, cedar, tobacco leaf. Oak present but integrated.Fully developed.
P: Dry , medium (+) acid, high tannin, medium alcohol (13%), full body, pronounced intensity and long finish.
C: Drink now (in next 3 years). I think this is Good to very good quality wine.

    Guesses:
cassis, cigar/tobacco, bell pepper and oak and i was on the left bank of Bordeaux. Didn't know it was haut medoc, however. Guessed 2005. oops.Knew it had age owing to the garnet coloring and the dried nature of the fruit.

March 30, 2018 - Drank with 2003. Not the same weight. Pleasant but lacking any real intensity.

  • Two Winos Does not like this wine:

September 23, 2017 - Was once a pretty good, inexpensive Bordeaux has now gone over the hill. Astringent & abrasive. Not pleasant at all. Left it in a decanter for 2 days just to see...it didn't help much.

April 1, 2016 - On opening somewhat closed and even green on the palate. Opened somewhat after an hour. Much, much improved the 2nd night with complexity and mineral. Still lean but Very enjoyable.
