April 28, 2022 - As always, a beautiful “Loring purple” shimmers in the glass. A nose of dark fruits dominated by black cherry rise from the glass. The bouquet also delivers a distinct smokiness with a push from cloves. The telltale teaberry/cloves jockeys for the lead on the attack with the black cherries and continues through the mid-palate and finish. A heavy line of sediment runs along the length of the back of the bottle. 14.8% alc. With seared duck breast. 04.28.22. Recommended.

November 30, 2019 - Translucent and brilliant “Loring Red”, yet opaque in the glass. Per usual, the wine shows focuse and complexity on the nose with licorice, balsamic, violets, smoke, strawberries, and cherry jam. Expansive on the palate with integrated tannins that continue to promise shelf life. A bit of Dr. Pepper joins in the smoky, balsamic finish. Simply a wonderful Loring Pinots. Surprisingly, it was not the Spousal Unit’s favorite of the evening (perferring the ’10 Keefer). 14.6% alc. With Thanksgiving leftovers of smoked duck, sausage and leek dressing, sweet potato gratin and cranberries. 11.30.19. Highly Recommended.

July 16, 2016 - Brian says he makes wine for immediate consumption. Too bad. Fruit has great promise.

July 30, 2015 - Blueberry and boysenberry fruit. Nice change from "traditional" Pinot fruit, but otherwise still a Pinot with a little baking spice and some loaminess. Smooth, but not quite satiny, across the palate and a pleasant finish with some acidity that matched well to grilled salmon.

2/8/2016 Loved the fruit again this time, but didn't get anywhere near as much complexity. Came across as one-dimensional. It was a really good dimension, but wish I'd had the same experience as the first bottle.
