  January 20, 2014 - I like it but I'm not sure what to make of this one. Lots of plummy fruit and tannins, but somehow still a little soft on the palate. I don't know if this is just in a weird place, or if I just didn't connect with it.

  July 17, 2012 - Unscrewed and poured directly into the glass. Bright purple/garnet color. Gorgeous! The bouquet is a mix of spicy black fruit, plum, peppercorn, wet gravel, and leather. Great balance, with concentrated black fruit aromas taking the lead. This is young but showing beautiful texture thanks in part to the acidity and tannin levels. They restrain a ripe, intense core of black fruit flavors like cherry and plum, with a hint of currant too. More minerality comes through on the mid-palate, along with a dose of dried flower petals and leather flavors. The finish is lengthy and impressive, tapering off with a surprising amount of finesse. Drink now through 2019.

  January 15, 2012 - - Purple color. It's balanced with a medium body. Smooth texture with a medium finish - Balanced. Nice tannin. Nice color, violet and crimson. Ruby when swirling in the glass. Dark garnet when still. Fruit, maybe raspberry or blueberry. Leaves me wanting more.
