Community Tasting Notes 3

November 24, 2011 - Popped and let breath for 2 hours prior to Thanksgiving dinner. Drinking from Riedel Oregon pinot noir stems, aroma of faint earth and cherry. Took some additional time in the glass to fully open, lightly complex w/flavors of cherry, spice and strawberry. Balanced w/some tannic backbone, could last for several more years. Very good.

March 13, 2011 - Nicelay balanced and restrained.....except for the oak. This isn't jammy or overly extracted and has some nice fruit clearly, but the 2x4 is a bit prevalent for my taste. Lots of tart dark red fruit with some earthiness and solid acidity. Ultimately, the oak is a bit drying and maybe this was better in its youth when the fruit could cover the oak a bit more. The label shows the significant oak treatment....and I don't doubt it. I'll still go 87, oak-phobes would go lower. Didn't get better with air.

May 10, 2008 - Beautifully made and balanced. Not in your face. more like a good Cristom with restraint and balance. Really solid stuff, just not quite complex enough to get more than 91 points probably. So well balanced.
