January 29, 2022 - El CumpleaƱos Menor de JS (Elystan): Light opacity, ruby holding to the edges. Fascinating nose of earth and cherry with some floral touches. The palate was very bright and linear and carried forward a beautiful savory spiced cherry profile that left the palate clean after a long finish. I really liked this.

April 24, 2019 - Medium+body. I like this a lot, but there's a strong graphite component that's blocking the rest of the fruit out. Everything else that I'd expect from a Barolo. This should be able to last at least 5 more years.

March 18, 2019 - A lightere Nebb. Barolo. Mature and elegant with silky elements.
Very fine for now. Have some more in 2008

May 18, 2014 - Nice body, even though this one can still grow. Drank it with a nice Tunefish steak. Excellent.

January 18, 2013 - This scrumptious wine is wonderfully put together in classic Barolo style while still being approachable at this young age. Refined flavors of pencil lead, tar, earth and chewy tannins envelop the underlying soft red fruit.

    (E. Pira e Figli Chiara Boschis Barolo Via Nuova, Barolo) Dark red, with nice transparency. Soft, muted aromas of black cherry, bay leaf, and rosemary are set off by pronounced alcohol. Slightly green tannins surround a ripe, almost sweet berry core. The wine is round and full on the palate but well proportioned; a long flavor arc gracefully fades into a dry, tannic finish. Throwing some sediment, it has room to grow. Postmodern Barolo: The War That Never Was
