April 25, 2020 - Deep straw to light bronze edges.
Pronounced aromas of frozen gooseberry, granadilla, orange leaf.
A juicy entry with ripe apricot, sweet Valencia orange slices, a smear of honey all supported with a strident acid backbone. The wine has concentration, a fleshy mid-palate, yet a stony wet pebble texture and long length. The flavours unfold to show meebos (dried apricot roll), spicy oak, lanolin, peach flesh and grapefruit, lemon peel and floral notes of the Sauvignon Blanc.
The ripe fruits is well balanced with the bracing acidity, and the wine, although with some tertiary notes, is showing well at ten years old.

September 30, 2016 - Silky smooth with a bracing finish. A a wonderful paradox. Lanolin and peach with a touch of grapefruit.
    Drinking nicely.

January 19, 2015 - The age has done this some good. Wonderful and gets better with time. An amazing mouthfeel for a SV. I expect a little more age will make it sublime.

August 19, 2012 - Had a couple of these before and enjoyed them thoroughly but this one seemed overly acidic and far too rough? The semillon did little to iron it out, but did add a richness to the nose and a slight butter to the finsih. SA Sauvignons all seem to be heading this way, not sure why but rather perturbing indeed?

November 5, 2011 - A freebie. This won a gold medal at the recent Decanter WWA. No cepage listed on the bottle but we know its from SA so not completely blind. Obviously Sauvignon Blanc on the nose, something richer and rounder on the palate stops this being truly horrible. Guess at Chenin, turns out to be 20% Semillon. *1/2
