  May 26, 2014 - Initially very closed on the nose, but after an hour it opened to reveal subtle red fruit, earth, iron and old wood. The palate was equally restrained and a bit short and tannic. This was more precise than the Lavieres, but not as much going on.

  July 1, 2013 - Champagne, Burgundy, and old Huët at the North End Grill (North End Grill, NYC): The aromatics seem a little muddled and muted initially, but clear up with some time in the glass, becoming more floral, herbal and spicy with air. There's a remarkable sense of delicacy and finesse on the palate, very fresh spice-tinged red and dark fruits turning more savoury on the back end, and this is drinking really nicely now with the tannins barely noticeable and a bright acid spine keeping it very fresh.

  June 1, 2012 - Decanted 1.5 hours before drinking. Dined on pork belly with cherries and turnips followed by a steak course. The nose was not powerful, but the taste was great, especially with the pork and cherries
