Community Tasting Notes 6

    July 19, 2011 - Nice older Pommard.

February 4, 2010 - Barnyard aromas initially, which blow off to show dried cherry, minerals, earth, and animale notes. This had dried cranberry and dried cherry flavors, quite a bit of earthiness, and quite some wood on the back-end. Tough, under-ripe, and a bit rustic. Interesting for its secondary characteristics, but very little fruit, and very little charm.

January 16, 2010 - There's the typical stinky feral odor of any good Pommard, but upon opening, the palate is dead. An hour or two later, it's a delicious, ultra-smooth, supple old Burgundy with smoke, wild herbs and light blue fruit and decent acid.

January 9, 2009 - The bottle was recently stored for months on a friends kitchen counter, so expectations were low. Good fruit, a little picnicky, good finish, smooth, well liked...would not buy

October 23, 2008 - Truffles and Toffee as usual, plums and damsons, soft, rich, diffuse.
