September 27, 2023 - Shocked I have never left a TN on this. Popped open next to a Kirkland Champagne.
Pale straw to clear ombre with a steady stream of medium-fine bubbles. Nose of wildflowers, pineapple, a bit of cherry, and a bit of bubblegum. Medium bodied, a bit sweeter than I prefer for a Brut, balanced acidity, and fruity. Palate starts off with licorice, followed by black cherry, pears, a bit of lemon, and chalk. Maybe even a bit gunflint. Finish is moderate in length but has an intense burst of acidity, cherries, lemon, herbal spices, and a lot chalk/limestone.
As always a very solid but not a high scoring wine. Great value for $14/bottle. -
