April 11, 2011 - Wow, what a great wine. Huge nose of tropical fruit, lychee, pinapple and guava. Nose also had that hint of petrol, gas odor you get with a riesling. Mouth coating with an off dry long 45 sec finish, a little bit greasy, oily but still a whack of fruit and a good back bone of acidity. I would think that although this is drinking well now, it should still hang on for a few more years. Served with grilled tiger prawns in a garlic, ginger and chili marinade. Great combo.

November 16, 2008 - Last bottle drank last night. Now turning almost copper in colour, this still has classic gewurtz notes of lychee and rose petals on the nose. The palate isn't quite as obvious, perhaps, but it's a great wine, fairly rich and finishing off-dry but still nicely balanced. Long finish, and there's more complexity in the palate now. Not quite as powerful as it used to be, but still quite a vigourous wine, although it might start declining fairly soon. I'd drink up over the next year or two. Wonderful served as an aparitif last night, and went well with a couple of dishes (fennel salad and crabcakes)(A-).

November 12, 2007 - Hazy notes from a few days ago - great gewurtztraminer here. Classic gewurtz nose, quite rich and thick on the palate, but with enough acidity to keep the richness in line. This is a no holds barred gewurtz! Might be best to drink in the next 2-3 years, in case the acidity drops, but the wine is kicking right now (A-).

March 18, 2007 - Pretty solid bottle of Gewurtz. I like the producer, accross the board makes some pretty decent wines. This bottle is pretty classic Alsace Gewurtz. Intense gold colour, super exotic aromas of Lychee, spice, blueberries and a touch of smoked meat/room freshener. Pretty think and fat on the palate, delivered classic flavours, very ripe, a lot of residual suger, but just enough acid to prevent the wine from being overly sweet or cloying. Good balance indeed, and very enjoyable with spicy Thai food, or to sip on its own.
