May 11, 2024 - Blind Pinot Noir Tasting and Lunch (San Francisco): Deep yellow. Clean orchard fruit nose with a touch of honeysuckle. Medium weight but not particularly dense or sweet for a 1ère Trie wine. No botrytis and none of the oxidation that has plagued many 2002 Huet wines. Excellent, relaxed, and long pear flavors.

April 20, 2024 - Huet-A-Thon (Bay Area Edition): This was absolutely stunning. Notably less sherried and much fresher on the nose than the ‘02 Demi-Sec. Lively and complex on the palate with a wonderful balance of tertiary notes and receding white fruit and citrus flavors. The acidity is very much on point and makes the sweetness less pronounced (this drinks more like a demi-sec). Surpasses the ‘96 Le Mont Sec by a hair for Wine of the Day.

January 15, 2024 - Ginger, candied pineapple, pears and hints of glycerine. Starting to loose some oomph and probably need to drink remaining bottles within five. Still wonderful and excellent.

December 25, 2023 - Apples, pears, honeycomb, a hit of ginger. Perfect amount of sweetness for our apple crumble and a big hit with the family at the end of Christmas dinner. Missing some acid to make this great, but it didn’t need to be any better for it to be fully enjoyed on the occasion.

November 19, 2023 - Deep golden with amber tint. Complex nose and palate with quince, honey, minerals, pears, blossoms, citrus. On the palate light on its feet, yet with outstanding richness and intensity of flavors. Shows some grippy but round tannins in the finish, not as bitter as in some other première tries. 5/13/17/8. This is not sweet enough to go with or, for my taste, even as a dessert. Better as an apéritif or e. g. with game. -2028.
