August 24, 2022 - Clear and youthful dark red ruby in color. Aromas take a while to unfurl showing red cherry fruit leather, spice, violets and a lifted menthol note. A very silky palate follows through with sweet red berry fruits, hints of savory meat, touch of caramel, good acidity, fully resolved tannins and a long spicy/floral finish. Reports of its demise are greatly exaggerated!

December 31, 2018 - Austere, tight and backward with little follow through...probably needs more aging

January 25, 2016 - Frog, ZH, Bouchard, Krug, Sauzet, Fargues (E. 4th street): Again, I feel a bit let down by Burgundy. This is very good, but given the vintage and age, I would have hoped for a bit more. Ruby in color with some purple. The nose has nice cherries, slight vanilla. Clean, no funk. On the palate, strawberries and lighter cherries. An underlying charred earth notes. Good balance, but seems a bit listless. I bought this in France and carried it back. A victim of high expectations.

May 19, 2012 - This was a powerful wine that is still a bit wound tight. Profile of cherries and raspberry, with a meaty chewy disposition. It started to loosen up upon decanting. Fruit forward, with a sense of terrior and minerality. This needs another 5+ years and it will be singing.

October 28, 2011 - Really quite nice, and over performed expectations. Barely into its drinking window, no hurry on these.
