November 23, 2013 - Not the best vintage of this wine. However, the average assessment in CellarTracker is misguided, in my opinion. Powerful and balanced wine. Licorice. Black fruits. A little mint. Lacking the elegance and complexity observed in the best vintages, but is far from a common wine. For the right price, it's worth. 92+

November 4, 2009 - Very difficult to read this wine. Structured and elegant with tart fruits - almost like preserved lemon puree - and a nice finish. Balanced, yet disconcerting. Certainly enjoyed the bottle, but ...

April 29, 2008 - Tons of tart cherry extraction that hides the tannins, which are certainly there. Cinnamon spice aftertaste. Not at all traditional, but what is it? I can't tell what will happen to all the tartness, but this is an intense wine that necessitates more storing. (I had to taste the 2002 because it was a whole hell of a lot cheaper than the 2003/04/05, about which WA's Jay waxes poetic.
