Community Tasting Notes 15

October 30, 2021 - Developed nose and certainly some kerosene notes but also some orange citrus and some bitter pith elements
This precursor to the Alea and has always been sweeter than any of the Alea vintages I have tried. There's Lemon barley water lime and tangerine on the palate with plenty of acidity to counter some of the sweetness without hiding it entirely.

Overall I am still, like other recent reviewers, under-whelmed. It's not a poor wine, but neither is it beguiling. Good acid brightness and some moderately interesting kero on the nose, but the palate seems weak ... fruit simple and not really up to balancing the acid.

November 6, 2017 - Quite perfumed, with some secondary character having developed on the nose. On the palate, it is still fairly linear. Reminiscent of lemon barley water with a little lime and green apple. There is a pretty crisp acidity that runs through this that keeps the sweetness corralled and provides some length

September 1, 2017 - GMs - Casual Fridays September 2017: Floral, lemon, lime and light herbs. Nice mix of sweetness and acidity, decent structure and length. Lacks in complexity but it has nice balance and drinkability.

February 13, 2016 - I correct my earlier and rather negative impression upwards: the wine is a perfect pairing for Chinese cuisine (the real one, not the fast food type). Drank it to steamed fish with fried garlic and ginger and kai lan. The sweetness and lemony notes complement the cuisine very well.
