April 21, 2017 - Bright golden colored at first, then lightened to medium straw; lemon and spice on palate and nose; surprisingly vigorous and fresh still

November 2, 2014 - Final bottle from a half case bought in 2005. Last tasted in 2009, when it seemed to be evolving very rapidly, with strong tertiary flavours. Remarkably, this bottle seems much fresher than that. Intense but lively yelow colour, fine bead; it displays the steely 1998-backbone of acidity, with quite impressive aromatics, lovely creamy Chardonnay fruit, biscuity warmth, Pinot Noir power and red apple fruit, and just a hint of nutty evolution; good length. Fully mature but not tiring at all.

December 31, 2010 - Very disappointing for vintage champagne. Weak, lacking in flavor, almost tastes diluted. Would definitely not purchase again. Would use mixers/mimosas rather than drink straight.

October 30, 2009 - A private dinner (@ Home): Paired with the 2000. A much richer style, is evolving rapidly.

(Piper-Heidsieck Champagne Brut Millésimé) Earthy mineral and light soy sauce nose; great entry, tart but mineral-infused, with good acidity, should age well; medium-plus finish
