July 16, 2022 - This drinks beautifully right now! Notes of leather, dust, cumin, red cherries and strawberries. Medium acid and some nice tannin here, which is impressive given the age. The spice is most prominent toward the end of the palate. Overall a balanced CC that can age longer still.

February 1, 2021 - very good showing, very ready. the nose is not overly complex but appealing. on the palate, all pieces fall together perfectly. very nice now

March 24, 2020 - Really enjoyable, medium bodied Chianti that went great with spaghetti bolognese. I thought it might be a bit old, but no, clearly well stored and perfect right now, with solid acid keeping it fresh.

July 31, 2018 - bottle and fill excellent, cork was fairly saturated with one finger of seepage. Somewhat dull color brightening only a little with time, improved with air, but old now. Turning to prune and moldy earth, still some tobacco and serviceable with eggplant Parmesan. This was always a good Chianti / blend for a '97 (a hot and ridiculous vintage), but past best now. Perhaps bottles with ideal storage could still be good.
