September 19, 2021 - Pop and pour, consumed over 2 hours. Appearance: Clear, dark ruby. Nose: Clean, medium+ intensity, developing aromas of bell pepper, plum, spice, earth, and menthol. Palate: Dry, medium+ acid and tannin, medium+ body, medium intensity, developing flavors of bell pepper, plum, spice, and earth with a medium finish. Overall a very good Sonoma cabernet dominated by vegetal characteristics - bell pepper, drinking well at the moment - drink now or over the next 3 years.

June 16, 2016 - Delicious! Herbaceous, olive, dark red fruit, nice balance. A little short on the finish is the only negative.

June 18, 2015 - Berries and currants on the nose. High acidity, with medium low tannins. Bretty finish. A bit unbalanced, too acidic for a Sonoma can, and the funk from the Brett is a bit disjointed.

August 19, 2013 - PnP at cellar temp - one sniff and you know it's a great wine. Bright black cherry aromas with an underlying herbaceous note. Some black pepper and menthol as well. Colour is a very saturated purple, almost like a light PS somehow. Flavour profile is herbs first, fruit second. The fruit is in the dark red realm. Great acid structure, not a huge amount of tannin, although it is present. (6:30)
After 10-15 minutes warming up and getting air, the above has simply intensified. A slightly bitter taste has emerged, but not in a bad or obtrusive way.
45 minutes in, this hasn't changed much but has continued to open up. Towards an hour now and it's actually shutting down a bit in the nose. Odd. The palate is also a little more spice-driven at this point.
2+ hours in, now it's changed and more earthy and mocha notes are coming out. The nose occasionally has hints of caramel. Overall this is a nice wine, a bit toward the new world style but with plenty of power, structure, acid, and complexity.1 person found this helpful Comment
