  March 18, 2021 - Served blind. I was guessed country wine from the Rhône. Nose said Syrah, but in the mouth a real melleow sweetness, that confused me. Certainly mature, but still a a lively, lovely. Plenty of local feel, garrigue etc., a luncheon wine - but not more. Drink up.

I'd drink these over the near term as the tannin structure is quite resolved at this point (and these are never the most tannic to begin with). Absolutely delicious now. I'm so sad that this wine is not really available anymore. It was a ludicrous steal at the $17 paid, and was still a good deal when I could last get it in the $20s. Now I see it in the $50s or higher. At that price I wouldn't even consider it, but for a few years this was one of my favorites.

  November 22, 2020 - From the days when Chambers sold this wine for $17. Classic Gonon flavors of dark olives, broth, dark fruit. Even a tiny bit tannic. Fresh, with good acidity, some herbal notes. It’s a genuine wine, still going strong, but its not a 20-yr wine.

  November 22, 2018 - Final bottle of this. Same note as last year. Simply delicious. But starting to mellow a bit. Drink now.
