September 24, 2023 - Weil Gräfenberg vertical 2003-2013 (Restaurant 360 Grad, Limburg/Lahn): Popped and poured. Clear, deep golden color. Nose with caramel and botrytis notes. Round and with a nice energy, but it can't deny the 2006 botrytis driven vintage. Good length. Drink up. 89

October 26, 2019 - Has become slightly more complex, but at the same time lost its freshness, being replaced by pineapple and white peach.

July 26, 2019 - The colour is almost orange; the taste a bit like an aged half-sweet wine. Was there botrytis in this wine, like in many other 2006’s? I kind of liked the wine, but it is not what i’d expect from an aged dry top riesling.

August 22, 2018 - Round, full, concentrated, yet with a precise lime-fruit acidity and a good mineral core. A point, I think; very good indeed right now.

    August 26, 2016 - Golden colour.
Nose: Petrol, rich lemon, some lime and a hint of lychee. With more air the petrol intensifies and is accompanied by wet stone minerality - classical mature Rheingau Riesling nose.
Taste: Quite rich / full bodied. Typical Riesling fruitiness with lemon / lime / citrus, minerality, some stone fruit bitterness. Keeps improving for 2 days after opening, building body, richness and oiliness. The acidity also becomes "purer" and more articulate. An initial slight "tired" and burnt bitterness note, potentially from warm storage, is almost gone.
The initial aftertaste was rather short but on day 2 it is long and vibrant.
Upgraded from initially 87 to 89 points.
This wine apparently needs and improves significantly with air.
