Community Tasting Notes 33

August 11, 2023 - Over the hill, tasted interesting at first pour, but then plum and port.

May 23, 2023 - An excellent showing from great value Bordeaux, cellared since purchase. On opening, dark ruby, no bricking evident. Great nose, really well integrated fruit and oak, with dark berries prevailing. On the palate, this has improved so much since the original purchase - almost seamless integration and very very enjoyable. Surprise of the night.

January 1, 2022 - I liked this better than last time and didn't really get any of the over the hill notes others have mentioned (plums and brown sugar). Rather, I was getting classic bordeaux notes, minerals and graphite on open, by day 3 the nuance wasn't there, but it was still solid.

March 16, 2021 - This is a mature, drink it now before it's too late, lesser Bordeaux. It is all there; mature plum, brown sugar and spice - a flavorful wine that is at it's peak or a little past depending on your preference. I was happy to find it in this state and preserved well enough to enjoy on a Tuesday night with beef stroganoff.

August 2, 2020 - This particular bottle was what I was expecting when I bought the case. The fruit has blended in to a lush mouth and nice balance that is the elegance I expect from Bordeaux. 90-91
