August 10, 2023 - Delicious right from the start, and improved throughout the evening, with dusty black & blueberries, dried tobacco, and touches of leather & winter spice. Tannins danced throughout the long, silky finish.

July 7, 2023 - Decanted for sediment. A lot of the upfront oak driven notes of coffee and chocolate that I remember from this wine have integrated and now it is mostly dark, plummy and black cherry fruit and spicy tobacco with a bit of sweet and sour sauce on the finish. Medium acid and tannin. Relatively long finish. In a very good spot and I would likely drink up if still holding any.

August 28, 2022 - Mature and complex. Unlikely to improve with further cellaring. DrInk through 2027+

December 20, 2021 - I got this 10 years ago, then forgot about it until recently. The cork crumbled badly - my fault for treating it like a younger bottle - so I've been constantly dodging cork bits while drinking this (even with a filter!). The color seems to be just starting to brick, with thin edges. A nose of cedar, rum, and slightly overbaked strawberry pie. Medium bodied, very dirty cranberries, sage and rosemary, a trace of cherries, rustic tannins, smoke and leather, and a really nice, long dry finish. Very enjoyable and worth the wait.

July 28, 2021 - Wow. This has gone from bruiser to elegant. No sign of any fading but why wait it's in a perfect drinking window.

(Gran Elias Mora Toro) #1; COLOR-very dark; NOSE-coconut; raspberry; oak; big dark fruit; black cherries; PALATE-big, bold, delicious; structured; dark and tannic; and really nice blueberry pie flavors on the back-end; good firm tannic structure; great finish; will last for 10-12 years easy; a little over-oaked for me; really well made; beautiful wine; a little big for my palate; JM-93; JR-93; WS-95; GV-92
