January 2, 2017 - Appearance: Bright and clear, it has medium gold color, with fading rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium (+) intensity aromas of citrus fruit of orange, green fruit of pear, maturity notes of honey and musk, stone fruit of apricot, dried fruit of raisin, floral notes of linden. The wine is developing.
Palate: Sweet with high acidity, the wine has medium alcohol, full body and pronounced intensity flavors of citrus fruit of lemon and orange, stone fruit of apricot, sweet spice of clove, dried fruit of raisin. The wine has a medium (+) finish.
Conclusion: Very good quality Alsace Riesling SGN, with good intensity and a complex nose, very sweet though balancing perfectly with the high acidity so making it highly refreshing and not even a hint of cloying. It has exceptional finesse and structure, extreme concentration on palate and fairly long finish. Ready to drink now, it can be maintained for another 10 years and more.

June 20, 2014 - Alsace Riesling tasting (At Halvor's): Golden/light brown color. Complex nose with oxidized apple and caramel. Medium body. Intense on the palate, hints of burnt sugar/caramel. High acidity, very long.

October 4, 2013 - An Introduction to Alsace, with Catherine Owen (Berry Bros & Rudd, London): From half bottle. Even after a long flight of wines and we admit some palate fatigue, this shown through. Good colour. Light nose with a light touch of petrol. We expected this to be heavy, stick, thick but to the contrary, this had a lovely lightness to it. Deep and rich, complex, but without been heavy and sticky. Lots of intensity, fresh and with a lot of time to go. Pretty solid, beautiful wine. 94+

September 16, 2013 - Fresh and with moderate sweetness, hint of spice. Fells quite young sill. Would leave other bottles for quite a while and hope for more complexity. Got lost in a powerful company.

April 19, 2013 - Visits to Two Alsatian Classics-Trimbach and Hugel; 4/19/2013-4/21/2013 (Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr): Like all of the 2001 FE cuvees, fantastic balance and legth. Not that sweet. Deep orange and peach with a little botrytis and great acidity. A drier SGN.
