May 18, 2018 - On first open this is a classic CA Cab, big, somewhat chewy tannins, perhaps over oaked. Day 2, and wow, this wine is making the case for why it makes lots of sense to buy and age nice wines. The tannins and oak have softened and integrated. It still has dark berries, but now notes of cedar, pencil shavings, with a long finish of bourbon. The mid pallet maybe a bit too dry, but this is a really nice wine, showing off the best of the California style at a very reasonable price. Is it really a 92 point wine? Probably not, but I’m enjoying it! Needs a good decant, but it also feels like it should be drank fairly soon.

May 22, 2016 - Dreamy. Profound. Yes. Soft tannins, but firm structure. Why am I drinking this now??? It'll cellar for a number of years to come. It's already well balanced with dark fruit, hints of leather and tobacco (very subtle) and a nice oak. Dominated by the refined fruit. Alas, but one bottle left.

March 8, 2016 - This is a very flavorful wine with good body. Tannins form a good backbone for this black cherry and cassis flavored wine. Some milk chocolate and wood on the finish. Nose was tight. Finish was medium. Really good QPR
