December 17, 2019 - Much improved over last tasting 20 months ago. Still thick tannins but has a lovely floral nose with increased delineation of dark cherries, black teas, campfire smoke, rhubarb pie, and blackberry cloves on the palate trailing into the finish. Drink 2020-2024. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 92.

April 19, 2018 - I didn't have the same experience as the previous two reviewers of this wine. I suspect they each had defective bottles based on their notes (likely bad storage, sounds cooked). I got this bottle direct from the producer and my experience was more in line with the critics, though I do feel this still needs improvement. Opened and let air for 1.5 hours ahead of stewed curry and coconut rice. Dark violet color. Nose brings ripe cherries, cherry blossoms, and hints of oak. The palate is still medium, tart, and tight, not revealing a coherent picture on the palate, bringing raspberries, high-toned citrus notes of orange peel and tangerine rinds, blackberries, rhubarb, cloves, cinnamon sticks, and cherry custard into the finish, which is still smoothing out. Overall, this is a work in progress but getting close, so should be best 2020-2026. Technical score: 90. Enjoyment score: 92.

April 7, 2015 - I picked this up on clearance for $20 as like AV pinot's, so i wasn't expecting too much. That being said I was still disappointed. This was big, ripe and unwieldy, and after a glass my palate was tired. The profile was dominated by a ripe core of dark berry fruit with a sweet oak influence, and lack of acidity which threw the whole profile out of balance. Its not quite Belle Glos but is getting there. The bottle reeked of over ripe fruit and spoofilated wine making.

March 25, 2015 - I'm a fan of Anderson Valley vinos, so I thought I'd give the Couloir Pinot a try. After reading great reviews on the Prince of Pinot site, I picked up this 2010 from the Londer Vineyard. From the first sip, even with a few pinot-like hints of pine and some berry fruits, this is sappy and has no discernible body. To be fair, this pinot is made in the bigger-is-better, darker fruit style at about 14% ABV. Still, this one is a big PASS for me.
