March 27, 2014 - 1970 - 1978 Ridge Zinfandels (Tom's House, Palo Alto, CA): Love this nose, pretty, sweet red fruit, some mushroom. More sweet red fruit in the mouth, anise, just a touch of heat. First example in this tasting that high alcohol wine (15.9%!) can age beautifully. (my 4th, group's 3rd)

November 27, 2013 - An incredibly pleasant surprise and a treat to try. Candied fruit. A little hot. But overall an interesting expression of aged zin.
