April 25, 2024 - Quite reticent tonight. I would put it away. Hope gets better over time.

April 22, 2023 - Champagnes and dinner with Alan and friends: Very generous pull from a friend. High acidity and a slight greenness so I was between 2011 or 2013, went for the latter as the greenness wasn’t obtrusive. Such a beautiful, haunting nose that made me immediately realise that we were in aristocratic territory. The seductive dark cherry fruit and masculine tannins made me think that it was a Cathiard. Still a long way to go for this wine as it was tightly-wound, but definitely destined for greatness despite the weaker vintage.
