March 18, 2023 - Last 2/3 of a coravined bottle. Used in and drunk while cooking the Mothering Sunday sauces. Colour - garnet but no bricking. On the nose, a little earth, a little fruit but not super expressive. On the palate - savoury and sour, there’s some fruit there, but not of the kind that you’d recognise in any new world Pinot. A refreshing 12% ABV - this is by no means grand - I’m not sure this type of wine was ever made anywhere other than burgundy, and I don’t think one can get it there anymore.

March 12, 2023 - End of the weekend: OK this is great - there's a bite to it, something savoury, a hint of green. The kind of wine that K thinks is faulty and I can only drink when she's out of the house, not grand enough to bring to a dinner but good and honest and wholesome.
OK coming back an hour later. NGL - this is work. I love this kind of wine but you gotta be in the right mood. -

January 7, 2023 - Gloomy January Saturday Drinking; 1/7/2023-1/8/2023 (Rainy West London): A generous leave behind from New Years Eve guests. Just what you want from a bourg rouge, toothsome, savoury, the fruit is there still and enough structure to carry it. I don’t think this kind of wine is made anywhere else in the world.

November 11, 2022 - Still good fun. I agree entirely with the last comment. Good undisturbed cellaring does have its advantages ….. quite a memorable taste too. This was sold to me in 2012 as decent everyday burgundy but it’s way better than that

March 30, 2022 - For a wine that is 5 years past its suggested drinking window this was a very pleasant surprise to find at the back of my cellar. Popped and poured minimal staining on the side of the cork, beautiful tawny colour. Strawberries and a little mushroom/ farmyard on the nose. Red fruits and a hint of damson in the mouth, sweet tanins and nicely balanced acidity with good length for a Bourgogne. Encourages me that the 2005 Les Suchot from this producer will eventually open up. One of the joys of not keeping perfect track of what’s in the cellar.
