Community Tasting Notes 10

June 18, 2022 - Pours to runs on color that is muddied by some raisiny brown. One can tell the age of the wine by the wide brownish pink menuscus. Notes of rub raisins, plum, and barbecued brisket. Everything is well integrated by now and not a note is out of step. The wine seem mellowed out, and apart from some acidity and the surpising heat of alcohol, no other notes raise their hand. It is past its prime. I should have opened this bottle 3-4 years earlier. Anyway, it it fun to contemplate the vivacity of a wine upon encountering it past its prime. And while I do that, I continue to ponder on a familiar refrain - why do burgundy wines cost so much?

    Repeat purchase? No

Medium minus tanniner. Medium pluss finish. Herlig kommunevin på et perfekt sted.

March 17, 2017 - With almost two hours of air the nose is restrained with little overt character. Good concentration of fruit but the acidity stands out on the finish in a bit of a jarring way. Perhaps time will help, but I'm not sure.

May 15, 2015 - Not as good as the 2009 vintage. The body is quite weak, though the wine has wonderful bouquet. Yet another bottle of Burgundy not worth its price tag.
