Community Tasting Notes 10

May 20, 2022 - Red and blue fruit, spice, and nutmeg. Good intensity and density on the palate which reflects the exceptional vintage. Drinking beautifully already but it will surely age gracefully. 92+

March 18, 2021 - Double blind and barely recognizable as Burgundy. Earthy with bbq sauce notes and a compact palate. The same wine from a different source last week was glorious. Storage matters!

March 18, 2021 - Double Blind Virtual tasting (Chicagoland IL): Double blind. Poor storage, this is a shadow of the brilliant bottle from last week.

March 11, 2021 - Chambolle Southside 1er (Zoom / Chicago): Wow -- full, layered, intense and enthralling nose of red and black cherry that is so darn sexy with spice, florals and toasted herbs. The palate has incredible volume and concentration with layers of complexity. So lively and long. Another simply thrilling wine in an exceptional flight.

March 11, 2021 - Chambolle Musigny "Southside" 1er Cru Tasting (Chicagoland IL): In Groffier Hauts-Doix vertical with an Amoureuses kicker. Bright red fruit throughout comes across as nuanced and layered, with mineral-tinged textures. Good+ weight, great length with a persistent finish. I tasted/ enjoyed this wine three times in 2012 and haven't tasted it since, and it is even better now.
