  August 26, 2017 - This is such an adult wine, deep ruby color, aromas of leather, fruit leather and wood, all translating onto the palate. Well balanced, tannins and acidity are pleasantly integrated for a dry yet supple mouthfeel. Palate is restrained, with wood and earth notes over fruit. The impression is elegant and worth a slurp.

  May 21, 2015 - I've been on a Qupe kick recently, but this one I didn't like as much as the Sawyer-Lindquist or Bien Nacido syrahs I've had recently. A bit too much leather and barnyard; I find it fights with the fruit in this one and is distracting. I wanted to say it's like a young Cornas, but it lacks the harmony. Perhaps it will come in time! I'll probably stick to the other vineyards for now.
