    December 10, 2023 - Very modern Brunello.

October 14, 2023 - Nice Brunello. Dark cherry and earth tones. Soft tannins. Did not decant and good out of the bottle though did continue to improve in the glass. I do think this is at the end of its drinking window and I would not hold much longer.

September 11, 2023 - My second time tasting an Altero Brunello. I decanted and strained, no sediment in this bottle. After several hours I began sipping. The 2007 has no tannin, however the wine fell flat. The fruit disappeared along with the tannin's. A really dull wine and not nearly as impressive as the 2017. Is it worth $80 a bottle? No sir!

July 11, 2023 - mature perfectly ripe dark red fruit; nicely integrated earth and rhubarb; great balance; i recall plenty of wood years ago, but don't notice now; still going strong on day three.

June 19, 2023 - Last bottle of 3 and this was clearly the best. This has mellowed out pretty nicely. No traces of oak (which was noted previously) and the tannins are quite mild. Still lots of racy fruit and good acidity. This no longer comes across as modern and powerful as it once did, and now pairs better with a wider variety of food. It was drinking very smoothly and with a nice mouthfeel. The complexity is modest, which is the only thing it lacks to really be great. I'm sure this would hold for 2-3 more years, but I don't see any further benefit to waiting. So I would drink up if I had any more. QPR at $70 was just solid.
