January 2, 2017 - Popped and poured, consumed over next 90 minutes. Another fabulous bottle.

December 28, 2016 - 750ml; Decanted and followed over a couple hours; Color is translucent red with significant orange bricking (looks aged but not dead orange)
Nose: Upon opening - tar and leather immediately jump out with aromatic flowers, changing over time to sweeter flowers, cherries, rhubarb, herbs, with tar and leather in the background
Palate: sweet cherry-rasberry, very herbal, incredibly smooth, a bit of acidity, a good bit of tartness, very slight, small tannins still persist in the background.
Summary: I have had few aged Baroli - this is in an interesting place. Very aromatic and flavorful, but a bit sweet. As good as it will get? You decide! (NR)

December 23, 2016 - The first night this wine to me was flawed, we thought of using it for cooking but we kept it in the decanter. 24 hours later the wine completely changed, the aromas opened up, the color brightened; on the palate acidity still remained and young fruit began to appear. What a difference 24 hours made. Lesson learned, never throw away a wine, it could surprise you the next day.

August 1, 2016 - Tar, roses, strawberry, licorice, and lumber. A bit muddy. Almost fully integrated tannins. Too much tannins really.

If the red fruit holds up while the tannins soften more, this would be an outstanding wine. If I had another bottle of this, I wouldn't drink now; I would give it another few years.

March 31, 2016 - Nothing special here. Possibly a year or so past it's drinking window.
