May 7, 2022 - This bottle was not as good as the last one that was drunk in March. Lots of sediment stayed on the tongue even after using a filter. Maybe mishandled by the waiter who opened and decanted the wine that I brought in for a group meal. Similar notes, but not as expressive as the prior bottle.

March 14, 2022 - This wine has really developed to something quite extraordinary for a low to mid $20 price point when initially purchased in 2012. almost 3 years since my last bottle and has developed further. It is super dark and rich, full-body, smooth, well balanced with some intensity and acidity in mid-palate. Finishes with mild drying tannin that does not detract from the overall enjoyment. Rich dark fruits dominate with black cherry and some aged balsamic dominant. I would easily compare the current profile to some $75-$100 wines. Compares very favorably to its more expensive sibling at this stage. Maybe peaking but has a few more years left. Patience has paid off on this bottle. One more left in the cellar.

May 13, 2021 - Termes and Termanthia tasted together; same colour, quite dark red; Termes rounded smooth nose, Termanthia more smoked, a bit of cigar; Termes rounded ready smooth; Termanthia requires air, tobacco, some tannins, 120 yrs old vines; Termes ready to drink; Termanthia - after some decant - quite fine, but clearly lots of potential; very different wines

April 17, 2021 - I can agree with reviews saying its time to drink up; the wine has lost its bright red fruit. But the oak is fully integrated, dark fruit is mature, super smooth and concentrated. There’s also still a healthy amount of acid so the wine is in no way flat. So if mature wines are your thing, this wine is in a great window and should continue to be for 5 years.
