January 15, 2024 - I was very nervous to try this as the cork was very soft and disintegrated on us and it took a few pours through the screen to get all the cork out.
The wine was amazing though . We actually liked it more than a 2012 Cayuse we drank recently. It was also much better that a previous Rompecabezas I had (2013 I believe)
The wine was a deep garnet color with the slightest hint of brown . Big rich beautiful well balanced red with dark fruit and some minerality and well integrated wood
I would drink very soon if you have some -

September 4, 2022 - Pronounced nose intensity with very aromatic nose of cooked ripe fruits, fig, plum, green bell pepper, cassis. High acidity and high alcohol.

July 22, 2022 - This bottle showing a bit of age. Decanted for about 45 minutes, consumed over 3 hours. Bold, spicy, packing-a-punch Syrah that really hits the spot with Asian-Mexican fusion tonight, but can probably stand alone quite well at this stage of development. Getting a bit pruny late in the evening, but last few sips still quite enjoyable. This bottle seemed at the later stages of peak drinking. Last of 6 bottles, and all were quite spectacular. Based on this bottle, I'd drink now or within the next 5 years.

June 14, 2021 - Popped and poured. The nose comes to life right away. Raspberry, blackberry, earth, tea and spice. Full bodied, youthful, big flavors but good acidity and balance. What I like about this wine is it’s ability to develop complexity. I already sense different layers of flavor but it needs more time to fully realize its potential.

March 14, 2021 - Stunning and fabulous! A great example of the flavors of Amador County Grenache and Syrah.
