Community Tasting Notes 7

November 20, 2010 - Medium ruby/garnet, wide pale garnet rim. A moderately intense but quite rich nose with bright cherry and plum fruit, rich earth notes, hints of liquorice. Medium/full on the palate, same bright plum and cherry fruit, really good acidity for the vintage, slightly tacky tannins, liquorice and rich soil on the slightly short finish. Not bad.

October 19, 2008 - Bright, medium ruby, narrow ruby rim. Moderate intensity rich ripe dark fruit on the nose, black cherry and plum, vanilla. Similar ripe fruit profile on the nose, no sign of over-ripeness and good richness here if not huge depth, attractive contrasting fresh acidity and ripe tannins. Some nice savoury complexity beginning to emerge on the medium length finish too. Very good and drinking well now - should be fine for another 2-3 years.

March 24, 2008 - Medium ruby, purple tints, narrow ruby rim. Ripe fresh plum, black-toned fruits, vanilla, hint of earth. Quite well balanced and fresh, if only moderately concentrated on the palate, fine tannins which just pinch a touch, a hint of something musty before some decent cleansing acidity on the medium length finish. All in all quite a pleasant drink, probably at its best now and over the next 2-3 years.

November 4, 2007 - A little reticent on the nose - some bright, ripe dark cherry fruit. Surprisingly light on the palate with bright acidity, dark cherry fruit and relatively sophisticated tannins. Perhaps lacking a little depth - but will reserve judgement as suffering from slight cold.

July 16, 2007 - Medium/deep ruby core, medium cherry rim. Corked but underneath seems to have opened out, with ripe plum and darker fruits, vanilla, reasonably ripe tannins and reasonable acidity.
