August 31, 2011 - Nose is rich and developed, with soil, mushroom, hints of game, underlying plum and dark cherry fruit. Full bodied on the palate, spicy, earthy, gamey dark berry fruit, the tannins are reasonably ripe if still a touch chewy but the acidity is muted and leaves the medium/good length finish a touch flat. Not bad for the year however.

July 10, 2009 - Medium ruby color. Nose of cherries, earth, some spice. Palate of red cherries, earth, spice, some oak. Nice tannic structure to balance. Well made with good structure given the hot vintage. Drank with a Kistler and was the more balanced of the two.
