January 23, 2024 - another good bottle of this very modern barolo. dark cherry, rose, and wet earth on the nose. palate is similar. the tannins are now fully integrated and the wine shows good overall balance. takes about 2 hours to open up fully, but the wait is worth it. while heavily influenced by the new oak, the oak is not in your face like a rocche dei manzoni. I have moved on from this modern style where the varietal characteristics of the Nebbiolo are destroyed by the new oak influence but this wine was enjoyable nonetheless if not truly representative of what a barolo can be.

April 10, 2018 - a wonderful barolo in every way. a modern style medium bodied wine that opens with a big nose of rose, menthol, white truffles, and cherries. on the palate the wine shows dark cherries, tar, leather, and, and nice earthiness. the tannins have resolved themeselves nicely yet the wine still has a firm structure backed by slight hint of oak (vanilla/cedar). the wine has a wonderful mouthfeel and is one of my favorites from the Parusso line-up

November 22, 2016 - Piemontese Night in New Jersey (Glenn's House): Decanted at about 5 pm and drunk through about 9pm. Big, modern styled, effusive and generous wine, giving lots of layers and complexity. Dark garnet color with youthful rim. On the nose it is smokey with dried cherries, prune, vanilla, mocha and a little medicinal/floral note that is attractive. Pretty massively extracted with layers of red fruits, tar, coffee, soft cherry cough drops and very smooth and rich on the palate. Finish is quite long and changes among the flavors every few seconds or so. My second favorite wine of the night and pretty consistently the first or second among the group. Paired wonderfully with the grilled venison and risotto and mushrooms.
