February 8, 2016 - very pleasant surprise, syrah dominated, well balanced and enough structure to maintain freshness on day 2

February 4, 2016 - If you must open it now (which you mustn't.) decant for at least an hour prior to fist sip. Because if you PNP on this you will pour right down the drain. This wine on open is an unmitigated disaster. After an hour of decanting it is one of the most beautiful things on earth. Life is weird. I read similar notes about 2010 Saint Damien Gigondas. Maybe a characteristic of the vintage. I opened the Saint Damien first and in a bout of frustration opened this. On first pour BOTH wines exhibited super similar characteristics. Ragged tannins, zero character super diminished fruit. Not good. This wine is, after 67 minutes, is kind of amazing. The varietal breaks loose and flies, the tannins, like any good parent step back and the acid acts as a leavening character. At 30$ or so, leave it in the cellar for two or three more years. This wine has a lot to say. Let it grow up. It's just experiencing a serious case of stage fright. Damn its good. Be patient, real patient unless you want to experience the same regret I am experience right now.. I'll take one for the team.

January 30, 2016 - Beaucoup mieux que la bouteille précédente, plus de corps, tanins bien intégrés et un beau fruit noir.
