September 7, 2020 - This was really delicious. Full bodied and smooth. I'd like more. Also didnt turn bright red when drinking

May 11, 2014 - This is Pear Valley's BIG GUN. It needs several more years. Right now it is very tannic with supressed fruit, but I think it will be great.
    All their other wines are.

    January 5, 2014 - From Pear Valley:
On the nose, blackberry, cherry tobacco, and dark chocolate are followed by a faint hint of mint. Initially soft on the palate, then opens with wild berries, black currants and Morello cherries. The fruit is supported by a firm undercurrent of earth, warm saddle leather and forest floor. This is a wine of power and grace that will continue to develop over the next 8 years.

July 22, 2013 - This is Pear Valley's "big gun"..... a whopping $24.50. GREAT wine for the price. Pear Valley was my first stop on a recent trip to Paso Robles and I bought a mixed case for under $300 delivered. Was a little worried about the quality, but every bottle so far has been excellent and a real value. I suggest you try them.
