January 27, 2018 - Pleasant nose, soft, almost invisible tannins. Ready to go, only had to decant for 15 minutes to open it up.

January 18, 2018 - Rutherford Hill is one of the few wineries in California devoted to making top of the line Merlot, and this reserve was their flagship wine from 2000 to 2010. Has aged magnificently, with intense dark color, bright black cherry and blackberry fruit, refreshing acidity, ample firm yet smooth tannin, superb integration, and lush richness. 15.3% alcohol with no alcoholic heat in the taste. A strong candidate for wine of the night at a tasting of 16 Merlots from around the world.

December 3, 2008 - Purchased at the winery by Brill and Brad. 800 cases produced. Let breathe for 5 hours in the bottle.
    Beautiful elegant deep ruby color.
Awesome aromas of dark red fruit. Cherry Garcia Ice Cream. Chocolate covered super ripe cherries.
Fresh baked sugar cookies and cinnamon. Loads of baking spices. Lots of beautiful Oak.
Palate is super balanced. Perfect weight on the tongue. The dry finish is superb. 60-80 seconds easy.
Totally velvet across the entire palate. So much lush dark red fruit. Cherries and more cherries. With tons of creamy chocolate.
Awesome wine from a classic producer in Rutherford. Grab one at the winery. One of the best Napa Merlots to date.

June 29, 2007 - This is a well balanced Melort. Great flavor out of the bottle. Drank with a New York and it stands up to marbling meat. This is a winner. Thanks goodness I have two bottles left.
